Angela wears a blue velveteen cloak by DIYcouture

How to make a cloak

This is a simple cloak that can be made as an elegant cropped evening cape, mid-length for a smart daytime garment, or to sweep about the knees. It is made up of three main pieces of fabric in the shape of slices of pizza and is lined with three identical pieces.

The cloak can be made with a striking lining fabric that flashes out from the folds. It can be made with a hood a collar, or a simple clean neckline. The collar can be rounded to form a gentle peter pan shape, or can have pointed tips. It can be conservatively narrow or dramatically deep. The cloak can be fastened with a single loop fastening, a full row of buttons or simply with a broach.
